Overview of PVC Slitter Rewinder Machines

PVC film is also known as polyvinyl chloride membrane, can be mass-produced by blow molding or calendaring technology. Types of PVC film

PVC materials mainly include soft PVC films with plasticizers added and hard PVC films without plasticizers. Soft PVC films also called plasticized PVC film, have better stretchability and tensile strength. Due to the inclusion of softeners, it’s Less used in food packaging, their poor toughness is not conducive to long-term storage. They are commonly used in areas such as floor, leather, raincoats, tablecloths, etc. In addition, it can also be used in medical supplies including infusion bags and soft tubes, but it has gradually been replaced by TPE composite films which are safer and more environmentally friendly. Hard PVC films also called unplasticized PVC film, have good airtightness, not easy to break, non-toxic and odorless, and can be used as an outer film material for food packaging and cigarettes. The disadvantage is that it is prone to becoming brittle at low temperatures and not suitable for frozen packaging.

Working principle of PVC film slitter rewinder

PVC slitter rewinding machines generally consist of multiple stations inculding unwinding mechanism, edge correction system, slitting mechanism and rewinding mechanism. When loading, adjust the spacing of cylinder driven unwinding chuck until the chuck locks the paper core of PVC film roll. The edge of unwinding web material needs to be positioned in the middle of correction sensor, and set to automatic edge alignment mode. Input pvc technical parameters such as unwinding diameter, width and thickness on the touch screen, and set suitable tension and pressure curves. Position the cutting blades according to the required width and keep the blades away from groove. Use inching switch to pull out the PVC film from mother roll and pull all the way to the winding station according to the routing diagram of membrane. Be careful not to touch the blade when passing through the blade shaft to avoid personal injury. Load the paper core onto winding shaft and align it with PVC film strips. Set the winding tension and lock the paper core, use tape to bond the membrane strips onto winding paper core, and lower the lay-on roller to ensure stable winding process. Finally, start machine after set the speed value.

After starting the machine, PVC film slitter is running at a slow speed. The operator should pay attention to the operation status of slitting machine and make some changes including the position of mother coil, winding and unwinding tension, the pressure of the pressure rollers, and the contact angle of curved rollers. When there are waste edges generated during slitting process, it is necessary to start the fan motor and place the waste materials into the suction port which will be blown out by the airflow. After adjustment, you can press the speed up button to make the machinery run at the the speed that has already been set. Generally speaking, when the preset length is reached or press the stop button, the PVC film slitting rewinding machine gradually slows down and the speed drops to zero based on the preset time. When equipment or personnel are threatened, emergency shutdown can quickly slow down and shut down the slitter machine. When the slitting process for master roll is completed, shutdown the machine, load and pull out pvc sheet from new mother roll, and bond with the original film material, then repeat the previous steps. The unloading work is completed through unloading rack. The unloading shaft is rotated and connected with the winding shaft, and release the air pressure on winding shaft. The sliced finished PVC film rolls is pushed onto the unloading shaft, which rotates and smoothly descends to the trolley or unloading area through the lifting mechanism to accomplish the unloading task.
